Planet Devlog #11 - A step back
I am thinking about changing Planet quite a bit. Previously, the game was meant to be a huge galaxy conqeuring realtime strategy game where you war against civilizations and create megastrucutres to dominate foes. This has been a very large task for just me so I am thinking of scaling down the scope of my game to be more manageable. Instead of a whole galaxy that you conquer, I am thinking that you would only conqeur a single system. I would make the system proceduraly generated just like the systems before but it would be more detailed. Different planet types and larger space objects.
Now this would not mean that I scrap everything that I have done so far and start all over again. This would mean that I would just have a change a tweak a bit of facilities to work with one system. Mining vessels will most likely latch onto asteriods instead of destroying them and moving on. Fighting ships without freighters will stay close to the planets they were created at. Interstellar drones will have to be shelved since there would be only one system. I might do something with it later but only time can tell.
I just wanted to get my thoughts out there and give people a heads up. Once I release this new version of the game, I will most likely try and add the multi system version in the future.
