Planet Devlog #4 - Mining rig, power plant, and mining vessel
2 mining facilities and one energy facility have been added. The mining rig is the most basic mining facility. It produces ore based on the planet that it is stationed on. The larger the planet then the more ore it produces. It is recommended to settle on a ring planet as your first since it will make getting ore easier. Mining rigs take a bit of energy to run. If you have no energy left then they will only produce half as much ore as they would usually to save power. The power plant produces a small amount of energy. Unlike the mining rig, it does not matter the planet's size. Power plants will produce the same amount of energy no matter what. Mining vessels cost no energy to run but have a limited life span. They fly out the the asteroid belt of the system and mine away asteroids, producing ore. It is possible to mine out all of the asteroids in a system making mining vessels useless. For now, I have to work on mining vessels working when the player is away from the system and then I will go on to add the rest of the level 1 mining and energy facilities.
