Planet Devlog #5 - All level 1 facilities
All level 1 upgrades have been finished. First off, the mining site. The mining site is the stronger version of the mining rig. It makes way more ore but you can only create 3 as opposed to the mining rig which you can only make 5 of. Turbines and solar panels are like power plants but they just make more energy. You can make 5 of each. Before by hovering over a settlement you could see the population but now if you do not have a satelite then the only thing that appears are question marks. If you have a satelite then you can see the population, which acts as the health of a settlement, it's ore and energy gain, which are how much a settlement provides to your civilization, and the level of a settlement. I plan to also visualize the level of a settlement by making it so once you buy all of the upgrades for a certain category, it levels up that settlement and you can buy better facilities for that category. Settlement fleets are used for expanding your civilization. They will fly from the settlement you bought it at to another planet and create a whole new settlement. Once all of the planets in a system have been settled on, this makes settlement fleets useless much like mining vessels once all of the asteroids in a system have been used up. Lastly, fighter ships. For now, they are useless since they will be used to fight enemy ships and facilities. Since there are no enemy civilizations yet in the game, fighter ships roam around the systems they are bought in. I am deciding on whether or not to add enemy civilizations now with level 1 upgrades or to finish all of the facilities for the player then move on to all of the facilities for aliens.
